Prof. Dr. Youssef Shiban
Professor of Clinical Psychology with a focus on therapy research
Youssef Shiban studied psychology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem from 1998 to 2003 and at the University of Erlangen from 2005 to 2008. He moved to the University of Würzburg for his doctoral studies and completed his doctorate in 2013. Shiban started his habilitation procedure in 2015 at the University of Regensburg which he completed at the end of 2017. In his dissertation he dealt with the treatment of anxiety disorders. For his habilitation he researched methods of confrontation therapy to overcome anxiety. Further research focuses on the use of virtual reality in anxiety therapy and the treatment of trauma, especially in refugees.
